Throughout its history, Schneider's Dairy
has committed to creating premium-quality products
to satisfy customer demand. "We're a full-line dairy
supplier," says William D. Schneider, Vice
President, Operations. "We offer a full line of milk
products from whole to skim to our Super Skim
product, a full line of cultured products including
Low-Fat Buttermilk, Whole Buttermilk, and a Cultured
Blend for baking." The company also offers Sour
Cream, and sour cream-based dips such as French
Onion, Ranch and Bacon Horseradish.
"Schneider's also
offers five fruit drinks, including the old
drug-store favorite of Reymer's Blennd," Mr.
Schneider comments. "We pride ourselves on
pasteurizing all our beverages: fruit drinks,
juices, and iced teas. Not all companies do this.
Our labels include the word
'pasteurized' on all our products to put the
customer's mind at ease about safety and quality."
Joe Pysola,
Director of Sales/Marketing, adds that the company
commits to looking forward to develop new products,
particularly those that satisfy the demands of
students and health-conscious consumers. "Our 'Super
Cool milk' with its very distinctive package, is a
big hit in schools. We sell the milk in 8-ounce
plastic containers - the package has a modern look
while retaining the wholesomeness of the product."
"Schneider's
Dairy sells the integrity of its product," says Mr.
Pysola. "It is something we take very seriously
here. We have one of the most rigid farm inspections
of any dairy. We protect the quality of our products
from the cow to the consumer. Schneider's takes
great pride in providing that type of quality." |

Mr. Pysola adds
that the commitment to quality doesn't stop with
milk products - it extends to all Schneider's juices
and teas. "Iced tea is viewed by our competition as
a commodity. What's different with Schneider's
approach is that the teas are given the same
impeccable attention that the milk products receive.
We buy only the highest-quality tea ingredients and
rigidly test them for product taste and quality.
This is one of the trademarks of our company."
"Even though our
products may be a little more expensive, we don't
skimp on quality," says Bill Schneider. "The
Schneider's mark of quality was established years
ago and we don't compromise. We enjoy enormous brand
loyalty in the market. Because of that, we can work
with retailers to help them understand that, while
our products might be priced higher, they will sell
more of them. We're proactive with our retailers;
we're always in the stores with them. Our marketing
and promotion efforts are designed to build business
within the retail establishment."
Schneider's
Dairy recently ran a television marketing campaign
with KDKA-TV, a local television station in
Pittsburgh, PA, that established the company as the
customer's HOMETOWN DAIRY. "This represents the
soft-touch approach that we take as a family
business towards our customers," says Bill
Schneider, Vice President, Operations. "The
gentleness, the family atmosphere that we create
with our clients and with our employees. In a world
of consolidation where people have just become
numbers, we still treat our employees as people. And
we treat our retailers like family, too. No matter
what segment of the business we're in, the family
approach is always there. |
